I'm originally from West Des Moines, Iowa and I'm an Accounting graduate of the University of Iowa. I moved to Minneapolis armed with an offer from Coopers & Lybrand. Interviewing for that job was memorable because the Twins were in the World Series and the city was absolutely wild! I knew it was a place I could call home.
A five-year career in public accounting at C&L, followed by almost nine years in industry (Control Data Systems and The Pillsbury Company), provided an enormous amount of experience and professional growth. While obtaining skills in SEC reporting, IPOs, budgeting, forecasting, international accounting, mergers & acquisitions, and audit was interesting, it wasn't everything. I found I most enjoyed building relationships and working with a diversity of people. I seemed to be the "go to" person for conflict resolution and social activities. I found myself less and less interested in what I was supposed to be doing (the next forecast) and more interested in looking at options outside of the typical finance position. My current role in sales gives me a more creative outlet to do what I enjoy most, networking, while still enjoying all the benefits of the accounting and finance industry. My role at Certes is simply the best I've ever had!

My spare time is mainly spent with my husband, Scott, and two daughters. We enjoy the lake cabin, traveling, skiing, and just goofing off with our kids. I'm still very young at heart! Just for me - weight training, music, reading, and a few nights out with the girls. I look forward to white water rafting some day, more trips, and actively participating in the lives of my girls.
